Beaten Coffee

The other day I was watching a Bengali movie Anuranan (Resonance) , I was watching because it was the directorial debut movie of Aniruddha (who was the director of movie Antaheen , which i had liked) and movie had Rahul Bose in it ( I like him too).  So  in the movie Rajat Kapoor asks for Beaten Coffee and there is a scene where Rituparna Sengupta makes it. This is my first introduction to Beaten Coffee. The movie was good  with an interesting thought . Once it was over the next thing I did was google for beaten coffee :) 

Beaten Coffee: This is a foamy , frothy , hand beaten (yes you need to use your muscle , trust me I did :) ) coffee. I followed a recipe in a blog to make it (http://mybutterhalf.com/?p=672) 

My Steps (Serves 2 Coffee Mugs)

Ingredients :

4 tbsp sugar

1.5 instant coffee powder

3 -4 tbsp of warm water

1 Coffee mug of water

1 Coffee mug of milk

Steps:

1. Put the sugar and coffee powder in bowl , I used a ceramic black bowl.

2. Pour 1 tsp of water

3. Start Mixing in one direction, Beat Beat Beat after 5 mins add a 2 tbsp of water, add less so that that it doesnt become watery 

4. Beat Beat Beat on direction for minimum 10 minutes until in volume of the whip become 4 times of orginal mix 

5. Mix water and milk and bring it to boil.

6. Divide the scoop to each mug, you will get 2 big scoop for each cup :)

7.  Pour the boiled milk in thin stream along the spoon 

8.  The froth will float on milk 

9.  Sprinkle some unsweetened coco powder on it 

10. Whoala ! its ready !

Drink it , lick it , love it :)

My dog is sick and if anyone has a pet knows what that means…I purchased medicine to fix the problem and I expect the situation to be resolved so that I can be in the office in the afternoon.   

The plan is to come in after lunch and I will let everyone know once I begin my commute to the office.

Snow Day , Wind Chill Day :)

The Other day i read a funny temperature chart for Chicago :) and seriously seems like it does hold true after the recent snow day and wind chill day 

60° F: Arizonans shiver uncontrollably; people in Chicago are still sunbathing.
50° F: Californians try to turn on the heat; people in Chicago plant gardens.
40° F: Italian sports cars won't start; people in Chicago drive with the windows down.
32° F: Distilled water freezes; Lake Michigan water gets thicker.
20° F: Floridians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves and wool hats; people in Chicago throw on a light jacket.
15° F: People in Chicago have the last cookout before it gets cold.
0° F: All the people in Phoenix die. Chicagoans close the windows.
10° below zero: Californians fly away to Mexico . The Girl Scouts in Chicago are selling cookies door to door.
25° below zero: Hollywood disintegrates; people in Chicago get out their winter coats.

It all started with Crazy snow days :) . The new year's gift which i loved was a white new year eve followed by a crazy snow day on Jan 2nd . It snowed and snowed and on and on it went..

Then came the wind chill day , Jan 6th the temp outside went down upto -15 F and Feels like more than -40 F. I always wanted to checkout how cold is really cold..:D.. This one s near enough. I went to clean the car, after less than 10 mins i came back with a frozen nose..Now i know why rudolph had a red nose.:)

3.Free up your freezer, keep the stuff in snow in your backyard or patio. ;) Go Green ...oops i meant Go white..Or is it Go snow ..or GO snowwhite( Ok i over did it :p)

4.Give a hour by hour weather update on social media (Really?, Dont judge me even I did one :D see the pic).     Cold, Almost Chill, Shivering Chill, OMG Chill :D

5. Stay home , Sleep , Hibernate ( I personally like this one :D )

Year that passed- 2013

One more year has past, and I stop for a moment to walk back on the lane ..Year 2013 had given me many happy memories , surprises . I made new friends , took many trips, learnt new stuff and managed to stay " one true to oneself awesome girl " :). And here u go , a few moments from 2013
